“mruthcaW” bedeutet rückwärts gelesen Wachturm und zitiert damit den Titel des Magazins der Zeugen Jehovas. Die Zine-Reihe, die ich noch während meines Studiums begonnen habe, war von Anfang an auch als Plattform gedacht, um die Möglichkeiten des Formats Zine/Magazin zwischen Raum, Print und Online-Medien zu erforschen. Dieser Anspruch wird in der aktuellen Ausgabe, die sich auch im Druck vom klassischen Heft weg bewegt, bis jetzt am konsequentesten umgesetzt. MruthcaW 3 wird von Catalina Acosta und mir herausgegeben, ist der Dekonstruktion von Heiligentmotiven und Märtyrer*Innentum gewidmet, und enthält neben Beiträgen der Redakteur*Innen Arbeiten von “die Wiese der Lust”, Aiko Okamoto, LibrĀh, woo-man-gang und Agnes Augustus.

Katharina Röser hat in Kassel visuelle Kommunikation studiert und lebt und arbeitet als freie KünstelrIn in Leipzig. 2017/18 arbeitet sie als Meisterschülerin mit Johanna Schaffer, Aisha Franz und Lea Heinrich.

mruthcaW 3 (performative Web issue)

„mruthcaW“ if you read it backwards means „Wachturm“ ( watch tower) and thus references the German title of the magazine of the Jehova’s witnesses. MruthcaW is a series of zines that i started working on while i was still studying. From the outset, the zines were meant to be a research platform into the possibilities of the zine as a format defined through space, print and online media. The most recent issue pushes this research forcus forward in moving far away from the idea of a printed booklet. Catalina Acosta has now joined me as editor for mruthcaW 3, which is dedicated to the deconstruction of matyr and saint motifs and will also show works of “die Wiese der Lust”, Aiko Okamoto, LibrĀh, woo-man-gang and Agnes Augustuss.

Katharina Röser studied visual communication in Kassel and now lives and works in Leipzig. During 2017/18 she has been working as a ‚Meisterschülerin’ with Johanna Schaffer Aisha Franz and Lea Heinrich.
